Anemone | Nerve Cinema

Date: 11 February 2026

Venue: Nerve Centre, 7-8 Magazine Street, Derry~Londonderry, Derry~Londonderry, BT48 6HJ

Marking the long awaited return of legendary three-time Oscar® winner Daniel Day-Lewis (who has also co-written the film).

Anemone explores the complex and profound ties that exist between brothers, fathers, and sons. Set in the North of England, the film follows two estranged brothers played by Day-Lewis and Sean Bean as they re-unite in a remote cabin in the woods where they are forced to confront their complicated shared past.

The feature film directorial debut from writer-director Ronan Day-Lewis, Anemone is an impactful exploration of the legacy of personal and political violence, which also showcases striking visuals and claustrophobic atmosphere. Featuring a powerful lead performance from Day-Lewis (in his first role for eight years) the film also features an exceptional supporting cast including Bean, Samantha Morton and newcomer Samuel Bottomley.
